Morris Grayson Middleton

November 30, 2021

Orlando, Florida – Morris passed away at Orlando Health on November 30, 2021.  Family was literally the light of his life, a fact that was known by all who spent any time with Morris.  Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Middleton, his mother Mattie Lou Morgan, his sister, Frances Bulger, and a grandson, Chad Middleton.  He is survived by his two sons, Michael Middleton (Gay), and David Middleton (Beverly), Five grandchildren: Scott Gianchetta (Danee), Samantha LeStourgeon (Todd), David Middleton (Laura), Jessica Middleton, Lauren Murphy (Eric), Zachary Kleier, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Morris was a face-value person that left no doubt who he was and what he believed.  Morris was known lovingly, by many throughout the world.  He was a humble man and earned this title for his amazing ability to live life in gratitude, and love for the gifts and life blessings, he held dear to his heart.  He applied those beliefs to his life in many ways.  Instead of living a life of retirement, Morris would not be stopped, he worked tirelessly helping others establish the best possible life journey.  He was known by the title of his careers and service to the Government.

Morris met his wife in 3rd grade; they dated through high school and were married for 57 years.  Morris served in the U.S. Airforce from November 1954 to November 1962. Morris attended Auburn University earning his Bachelor degree in Engineering.  He then attended FTU (now known as UCF) and Rollins College earning Master’s Degrees from both universities.

He was the CFOA (Central Florida Officiators Association) Booking agent and Refereed till 2017.  He was inducted into the FHSAA Hall of Fame in 2020.

Morris was a world traveler and completed his bucket list consisting of visiting every continent at least once.  After his wife passed away in 2012, Morris continued to travel the world with his companion Diane Moss and completed his bucket list ending with a trip in Antarctica in 2018.

There was no stopping Morris.  His first job was at the age of 12 and was still working to his last days.  He moved to Orlando, Florida on June 6, 1961 and went to work for Martin Marietta for 5 years when he then took a position with the Orlando Naval Training Equipment Center.  Once the Naval Training Center closed, he became Vice President of TeKONTROL, Inc. as a logistical engineer until his last days.

The measure of the worth of a life is not the summation of his secular accomplishments, but the positive effects that he stimulated in the life of others.  Morris Middleton was a legendary, positive life example to his friends and family.  He will be missed.

A service will be held Sat Dec. 11th at Trinity Lutheran Downtown at 123 E. Livingston St., with a viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a service@ 11:00 a.m.  Respecting his wishes, a private family-only graveside service will immediately follow.
