William “Bill” Foote Jacobus, age 77 of Orlando, FL, died March 29, 2023 in hospice care after a long battle with dementia. Born February 27, 1946 in Brownsville, Tennessee, he was the son of Otha Charles “Jack” and Lois Foote Jacobus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Jacobus. Mr. Jacobus is survived by his wife, Carol Kent Jacobus; son Christopher K. Jacobus and his wife Courtney of Orlando and son William R. “Rusty” Jacobus of Detroit, MI; and brothers Donald Jacobus of San Jose, CA and Paul Jacobus of Whitney, TX. His memory lives on with his two beloved grandchildren, Reilly and Kelley Jacobus. Mr. Jacobus was proud of his service in Vietnam, volunteering to serve one tour with the United States Air Force in Da Nang. After returning to Orlando, he worked at Harland Clarke running a printing press. He then worked for the City of Orlando, finally retiring after 20 years of service. Mr. Jacobus enjoyed volunteering for the Pine Hills Little League and Marie Osmond’s Children’s Miracle Network for more than 10 years. He was proud to be Ms. Osmond’s personal driver whenever she visited Orlando and shared numerous stories about the honor of helping her. Memorial Services will be held at 4pm Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home in Orlando, FL. with final interment of ashes held at Arlington National Cemetery in the summer of 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at curealz.org .
