William Charles Goucher

August 23, 1945 — May 9, 2024

William "Bill" Goucher was born in Hampton, Virginia on August 23, 1945 to Alice Louise Wiggin Goucher and Shirley Eugene Goucher. His father was in the U.S. Army/Air Force and being an "Air Force brat" lived in several different cities and states as a boy.

He graduated from Bourne High School in Bourne, Massachusetts on Cape Cod in 1963. From there he attended the New Bedford Institute of Technology, majoring in mechanical engineering and joined the Phi Psi Fraternity.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 30, 1966, serving until June 9, 1969 where he received an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant E-5. After his discharge he moved to Perrine, Florida attending Miami-Dade Junior College where he received an Associate of Arts degree in 1970. From there he moved to Tampa Florida attending the University of South Florida attaining membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in 1971 and receiving a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in 1972.

After moving to Orlando and working at Martin Marietta in Materials Engineering until 1975. He attended Florida Technological University which is now known as University of Central Florida where he received a Masters of Science degree in December 1976.

He worked for a number of consulting engineering firms as a project engineer, as well as for the City of Casselberry as a City Engineer/Assistant Public Works Director. He retired on April 10, 2015 after 9 rewarding years with CPH, Inc as a Consulting Engineer.

On September 9, 1983 he married the love of his life Charlene, "Charlie" to everyone else, she had two daughters Crystal and Lynn which he adopted on December 8, 1983.

He was a proud alumni of the University of Central Florida. As a season ticket holder for the UCF Knights football program he spent many afternoons and evenings going to the games with Charlie by his side and later on taking his grandkids to the games.

In his spare time you could find him in his garage working on some sort of project or out in his yard working on a variety of plants and bushes around his house.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene. He is survived by his brother, Robert Goucher of St. Petersburg, daughters Crystal (Toby) Randolph of Orlando; Lynn Dzialo of Apopka and his four grandchildren Ashton Dzialo of Sacramento, California; Colby Randolph of Gloversville, New York; Jasmine Randolph of Orlando; Madison Randolph of Orlando.
