Virginia Lenoir “Ginny” Wallace of Orlando, Florida, age 94, passed away on April 12, 2025.
Ginny was born August 17, 1930, in Staunton, Virginia, grew up in Lenoir, North Carolina with her grandparents, and was married to the love of her life, James Lewis Wallace for 65 years until his death in 2011.
Ginny enjoyed extensive travels with Jim, during his 36-year career in the U. S. Army and after his retirement, as well. Jim and Ginny moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1974. Throughout her life, Ginny had a passion for the arts. She studied floral design and opened her own business, Floral Décor, in Central Florida where she created beautiful floral works and decor for weddings and parties. She also studied photography and writing, venturing on many photoshoot trips in both the United States and Europe. Ginny especially enjoyed gardening, learning and sharing in clubs and classes, often making rose arrangements from her own extensive rose garden. Ginny also studied culinary arts. She shared her cooking and floral creations at the many parties in her home where she entertained family and friends.
Ginny was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed immensely by her grieving family. She will always be remembered as a generous, kind, loving and talented Southern Belle.
Ginny is survived by her daughter Linda Thompson (spouse Perry), grandson James Cartee, two step grandchildren Kathy Kauchak (spouse Jim) and Greg Thompson (spouse Kim), and great-grandchildren, Jimmy Kauchak, Brooke Thompson and Sydney Thompson, who all reside in Central Florida.
She is predeceased by her brother Earl Hardy of Hubert, North Carolina.
