Victor Suarez, 79, of Eustis, FL died on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born in Havana, Cuba to the late Tomas and Quintina (Mesa) Suarez. He worked in the Cuban electric company as a lineman but came to America for a better life for his family. He moved to New Jersey and was a tungsten machinist until 1997 when he moved to Central Florida. In Florida, he was a maintenance supervisor until he retired in 2009. Victor was a very outgoing social butterfly who sparked conversation with everyone he met. His children and grandchildren were his world. Losing his son in 2019 was very difficult for him but the strong bond with his daughter, the apple of his eye, the love of his life, as he often referred to her, kept him strong. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He always said that his best years were the years he spent seeing his grandchildren grow up in Clermont in their little country home. His great grandkids were his heart; he always wanted them around. Up until his last days his eyes would light up any time one of them would enter the room. He was a family-oriented man who loved nothing more than to be around his family. He will be greatly missed by us all but we feel comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and we know one day we will all be together again in God’s Kingdom. Victor is survived by Maria (Reina), his beloved wife of 59 years; his treasured daughter, Barbara “Lissie” Castillo Perez and husband Will; his cherished grandchildren: Justin, Yessenia, Joshua, Abbigail and Gabriel Castillo, Ashley, Jonathan, Victoria and Natalia Suarez and his great-grandchildren: Ian, Arielle-Lynne, Lissette, Alaïa, Caleb, Isabella, Elisa and Elijah. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his adored son, Victor Manuel Suarez.
