Thomas F. Ryan, Jr.
Thomas Ryan (Tom) died peacefully on April 19th in Winter Park, FL.
Tom and his family moved from New Jersey to Orlando in the summer of 1983, where they made their home since. Tom was a big fan of Florida life - he loved the beaches, sunsets, and breezy summers. He especially loved visiting the Ernest Hemingway look alike contest in Key West, where more than once over the years people wondered why it wasn't him on stage.
Though he worked in the HVAC business, in his spare time Tom was a talented oil painter, completing hundreds of paintings in the course of his life. He was a perfectionist, though, so he never signed his work. "It's not good enough yet," he'd say. And so you'll never know.
Tom was preceded in death by his two sons, Tommy and Mark. He is survived by Diane, his wife of 55 years; his sister Eileen; nephews Tommy, John and Chris; Chris's wife Rebecca and their son Christian; as well as three honorary granddaughters: Aly, Mary Beth, and Hannah Violet.
We will all miss Tom's sense of humor, quick wit and love of a good margarita. We will think of him often.
