Steven Jeffery (SJ) Kende born at Ft. Hood, Texas on November 10, 1966, passed away at the age of 55 on November 11, 2021 in Orlando, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents Zole S. Kende and Wanda L. Kende. Steve is survived by his three sisters, Valerie L. (Mike) Silva-Petrie, Toni K. Martin, Leslie A. Hoyt, half-brother Danny R. (Deen) Kende and a beloved niece and four nephews.
The hospitality industry was the career he loved and at the time of his passing, Steve held the role of Director of Food & Beverage at Columbia-Sussex Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside. He worked in similar jobs around the country in places like Dallas, San Diego, Cincinnati, New York, Long Island, Austin, Miami, and Hutchinson Island, Florida. In all of these locations, he made friends who became family to him.
Steve was deeply loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, traveling around the country, and visiting places abroad as well. He treasured watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys play football, both on television and in-person whenever possible. Most of all, he was loved by and truly cherished his Boston Terriers: Tyson and Lulu, then Thor and most recently Zeke.
At the request of the family, there will be no funeral services.
The family has asked that donations be made in Steve’s name to your favorite animal shelter or Big Brothers Big Sisters Fishing Adventure.
