Stephen Elliott

Stephen Lawrence Elliott passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Orlando, Florida.

Steve was born on July 11, 1948, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was the only son of Julian Harvey Elliott and June Margaret Elliott. Steve spent his childhood in Jacksonville and later moved to Miami where he graduated from Miami High School.

In 1968, Steve joined the Eastern Airlines apprentice program and earned his A and P license. He worked for Eastern until its closure in 1992, after which he worked for TWA and Saudi Airlines. Steve moved to Central Florida in 1994 and worked for Capital Cargo Airlines as a maintenance controller until his retirement in 2012. Throughout his career, he was also involved in real estate and real estate investments.

Steve understood how difficult life could be and made sure the Elliott home was always a safe and welcoming place for all and often worked with children in the neighborhood and our local elementary school. Steve loved good food and was never happier than when he was cooking for a crowd. He was a devoted husband, a loving and wonderful father, and a loyal friend. He was especially fond of his dog, Arlow.

He is survived by his wife Frankie Callen Elliott and three sons, Todd Elliott and his partner Barbie Acosta, of Miami, and Ryan Elliott and his wife Lissett, and one grandson Christopher, also of Miami, and Joseph Elliott of Dallas, Georgia. Steve also leaves behind two stepbrothers Paul and John Oakes and one stepsister, Patrice Oakes Van Landingham.

A celebration of life will be held for Steve on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Geneva, Florida, starting at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join in fellowship with the family after the service at the Geneva Community Center, located at 161 1st Street, Geneva, Florida

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve’s name to Castle Creek Elementary School via the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools.
