Shirley Flickenschild

Shirley W. Flickenschild, 84 of Orlando passed away on July 28, 2017 . Born in Pittsburgh, PA,
she lived for many years in Toms River, NJ before finally retiring to Florida. Shirley worked for
the Board of Adjustment for Dover Township, NJ prior to retirement, Shirley along with her
husband George were avid Airstremers and traveled the country having the time of their lives.
They were members of the W.B.C.C.I. Airstream group, Shirley becoming the president of the
Central NJ chapter and secretary for life. Shirley is also a member of the Order of the Eastern
Star of New Jersey, Tuckerton Chapter No. 54. Shirley carried her love of helping others long
past retirement , volunteering with the Adult Literacy League as well as tutoring children
through the Read to Succeed program. She was also very active with the Toms River First
Presbyterian Church, participating in the choir and teaching Sunday school for over twenty
years. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Joy Lynn Davis-Bordo and Kimberly Ann
Davis, and one grandson James Leroy Jr. .
