Our Dear Mother, Ruby Nell Chester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in DeBary, FL at the age of 96. She was born in Quitman, MS to the late Jesse and Lucile (Taylor) Hinton. Ruby attended church every Sunday and Wednesday and instilled her Christian values in her children. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1960 and served with great devotion. She was received at Fort Hawkins, GA Chapter 285 and transferred her petition to Composite Chapter 305 and Orlando Chapter 131 when she moved to Florida. She completed her time as Grand Worthy Matron. Ruby was an avid bargain hunter. She loved flea markets and garage sales. She was on top of the world when she persuaded someone to drop their price by as little as a nickel. Another pastime Ruby had was bowling. She was on various leagues at Colonial Lanes, Orlando for 20 years and during her career, bowled two perfect 300 games! A hard working, caring, sweet and faithful woman, Ruby will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving children: Michael Chester and wife Susie and Vickie Lott and husband Junior; her daughter-in-law Becky; her cherished grandchildren: Scott, Kristina, Hannah and Courtney and her cherished nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was recently predeceased by her son, Ronnie Chester. She will be laid to rest privately in Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
