Zell, Ronald Charles entered into rest on October 7, 2018 at the age of 72, after a struggle with Pancreatic Cancer. Ron was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 23, 1946 and was the beloved son of the late Charles Frank Zell and Mildred Ann Waichulus-Zell,
he was also preceded in death by a sister, Idalee Zell. Ron received a full baseball scholarship to Purdue University, and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets organization. In 2012, Ron was inducted into the Niagara Falls Baseball Hall of Fame.
In service to his country, he was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam war. Ron was a graduate of UCF (FTU) and received his Masters in Engineering at Rollins College. After college Ron worked for Orlando Utilities as an Electrical Engineer and retired after 32 years.
Along with spending time with his family Ron loved to watch his favorite team the Buffalo Bills. He is survived by his wife Vicki Dix-Zell of 43 years, children Erika (Tom) Daytona Beach, FL, Chuck (Ryan) Orlando, FL, LaRae (Chris) Pewaukee, WI and Michelle (Hector),
Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Three grandchildren, Lily (Michelle), Greyson (Erika) and Riley (LaRae). He is also survived by one brother Gerry Zell and sisters Loreen Zell Schoelles and Terrilee Zell Oney along with nieces and nephews Kristina, Jeremy, Jason, Amy, Jesse, Jake,
Danielle, Jessica and Eric. A special recognition to Chris and Joanna Ashley, also Ed and Michelle Roman. A celebration of life will be held at The Pines of Windermere, 3409 Maguire Road, Windermere, FL on November 1, 2018 at 6pm, for more information email chuckzell@gmail.com.
