Robert James Welch

    Robert J. Welch 76, passed away in his home on September 10, 2024.  Robert was born on December 4, 1947, to William and Josephine Welch in Waukegan, Illinois. Bob served for the US Army from June 1968 - June 1971. During his time with the military, Bob had been stationed for a period of time in Vietnam. After returning home from his time in the service, he graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. In 2004, he retired from the US Department of Homeland Security, (TSA). 

     Bob, married Susan K. (Alferio) Welch on October 15, 1984, in South Bend, Indiana. Shortly after they married, they moved to Orlando, FL in 1989.  Bob is survived by his wife Susan, his two amazing daughters, Megan J. Welch and Molly K. Knox of Chicago, Illinois. He also had four grandchildren, Chase Bittick (who also followed in his grandfather's footsteps, by serving in the US Army, San Angelo, TX), Sienna, Mia and Brenna of Chicago, IL.  Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, His brother William and his sister Susan Hickman.
