Robert was born in Franklin, Pa. on Oct. 4, 1946. He was 13 when the family moved to Orlando, Fl. in 1959. Robert lived at home for a time but care was a challenge for his Mother as she was a homemaker and caregiver for five children, two of them developmentally disabled. He was sent to Sunland Training center where he lived until adulthood. Robert was then moved to group homes for the remainder of his life.
He worked full-time for most of his adult life, putting in 26 years with Goodwill, Ind. of Florida. He retired due to health reasons in June of 2015. He is survived by his sister Shirley Ann, sister Nancy Kay, brothers William L., and Louie. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 28, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, where funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida 32806.
