Rita A. Battista Stremcha, 61, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Lake Nona VA Medical Center, Orlando, Fl. She was the beloved wife of Richard Stremcha. Rita was born in Oneonta, New York the daughter of the late Angelo and Sally (Bleackley) Battista. Rita lived life to the fullest in all areas: spiritual, family, work and play. She loved the beaches, cooking, fishing, concerts, and family activities. Our fondest memories will include Rita running with the reindeer in Alaska among many other exciting adventures. Never one to stray from a challenge Rita an Army veteran accomplished much in life, from being an Airborne Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, a registered nurse who had a deep compassion for the medical profession. Rita was a lifelong learner as prior to her death Rita was pursuing her education having completed all academic requirements with honors to become a nurse practitioner and after this last nursing assignment was set to begin the clinical portion of the degree requirements. A proud mother who never stopped loving her son despite facing many of life’s challenges and his rebellious nature, she never gave up and he grew to become a fine young man knowing she would do anything for him.
Rita is survived by her son Dominic Casper and his wife April of Ozark, Missouri; Rich’s 2 children Joseph and Madeline (Maddie) Stremcha and her daughter Rebecca; 4 grandchildren Gage, Tristin, Haiden and Brinn; a sister Angela Battista of Somerset, Ma; a brother Stephen and his wife Mary Jane of California along with many nieces and nephews.
