On Saturday morning, January 2, 2021, Polly Rowe Fuehrer passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes. She was born on December 25, 1931 to Thomas I. and Virginia McCormack Rowe in Orlando, Florida. She graduated from Orlando High School in 1949 and was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Orlando. In 1956, Polly married Hans R. Fuehrer and the couple had three children. Although they divorced in 1980, Polly and Hans remained friends until his death in 2006. Polly worked for most of her adult life as a secretary, first for Florida Farm Bureau and then as a legal secretary for several Orlando law firms. Later in life Polly loved volunteering. She helped her son with his swim club, and colored and created instructional materials for the Kindergarten teachers at Blankner K-8 School in Orange County. She was recognized for her service to the Orange County Public School system in 2004. Polly was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas I. Rowe, Jr. (1984) and is survived by one daughter and two sons: Lisa Fuehrer Bugden and David; H. Robert Fuehrer, II and Lani; and Thomas R. Fuehrer and Kim. Polly also has four natural grandsons and two step grandchildren: Benjamin Nordmann (Chris), Hunter Fuehrer, John Fuehrer, Austin Fuehrer, Coley Swegheimer and Jay Swegheimer.
A memorial service will take place at 1:00pm on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church of Orlando, 142 E. Jackson Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Polly’s name to either the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen charity for breast cancer research.
