Patricia Milleson

September 26, 1942 — December 28, 2018

Patricia "Pat" Murray Milleson was called to her heavenly home on December 28, 2018, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was 76, and had courageously battled a brief illness. Pat was a woman of strong faith, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She will be remembered forever for her fun-loving spirit and generosity. The family is thankful for the amazing and compassionate team members of Sacred Heart Hospital and The Beacon Senior Living.

Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Don, and their three sons: Kevin Milleson of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Mark (Kim) Milleson of Palmyra, Virginia, and Todd (Monika) Milleson of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Siblings: Mike (Phyllis) Murray of Orlando, Dennis (Marty) Murray of Orlando, and Susan (Ann) Murray of Asheville, North Carolina;
In-Laws: Barb Milleson, Wilson and Mary Virginia Milleson, Ralph and Rose Heller, Perry and Kaye White, Gary and Janet Milleson, and Ray and Merry Morgan; Grandchildren: Elizabeth Milleson, Dan Middleton, Diane Milleson, Joe Milleson, Zack (Harley) Middleton, Ethan Milleson, Alli Milleson, Stephen Milleson, Emmalynn Milleson, Caleb Milleson, Kamryn Milleson, and Ella Milleson; and many close in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. She was preceded in death by sons Chris Milleson and Joseph Milleson, parents William and Margaret Murray, brother Jerry Murray, and brother-in-law Glenn Milleson.

Pat was born in Orlando, Florida on September 26, 1942. She graduated from Boone High School in 1960 and went on to earn her Registered Nursing Diploma from the Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She worked in various nursing roles throughout her nearly 30-year career, including many years as a Labor and Delivery nurse and as an Emergency Room nurse. Most recently, she worked for The University of Virginia Hospital as Head Nurse of Family Practice, until her early retirement.
Pat enjoyed life and was always willing to try new things, including riding motorcycles on the beach and joining in on the Polar Bear Plunge in her 70's! She loved
family time, word searches, the outdoors, good movies, and was a Bingo expert. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Florida and Virginia, and President of The United Methodist Women at Aldersgate UMC in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She and Don lived at The Beacon Senior Living in Gulf Breeze for the last three years, where she was President of the Resident Council and led weekly exercise classes. They made many friends and kept active at The Beacon, where the staff referred to them as The Royals.
She was so proud of her family and was quick to share a story or photos with others.
Those of you who were fortunate enough to know her will recall her intelligence, quick wit, sauciness, and generosity. She truly was a blessing to so many.
