Ophelia Tamney

Ophelia Gazil Tamney, 88, passed away peacefully into Gods hands at her home on May 4, 2014. She was born on February 23, 1926 in Orlando, FL to Michael and Rebecca Zookey Gazil. She married Frederick Tamney on January 26, 1947 and had five children. She was a beautiful lady, devoted wife and loving mother with a very gentle and caring spirit who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, dancing, entertaining and family gatherings. She devoted much of her time and energy to helping others. She was a proud member of the Syrian Lebanese American Club SLAC and Christ the King Episcopal Church. Her Kindness and love will be missed by many. She is survived by her loving daughers Phyllis Blake Pete, Janice Holliday David, Victoria Moore, Flo Dibble, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by Brothers Charles and Raymond Gazil and sister Elizabeth Mastry. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred Tamney, and son Freddy, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6pm8pm at Colonial ChapelCarey Hand Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11am at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 26 Willow Drive, Orlando, FL, with Reverend Stephen Clifton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
