Michael Story was a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was meek, loving, patient and kind. He always had a genuine smile on his face, and his sweet presence would enlighten any room.
He truly displayed the character of Jesus whom he loved and served by loving everyone around him, especially his clients of all ages at Everyone's Counseling Center.
Mike is an example of a life well lived. He was a proud veteran. Among other things, throughout his life, Mike worked as a career counselor, in Casualty Assistance Calls office with the Navy, Red Cross, and the Navy and Marine Corp Relief Society. He also served as an instructor for deputies and civilians with the Orange County Sheriff's Office; he was a certified Victim Services Practitioner. He has worked at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Families in the Sexual Trauma Recovery Center. He became a Critical Incident Stress Management and Debriefing Team Mental Health Counselor for the Sheriff's Office. He was the program director of 36 boys in residential foster care. We will miss him tremendously and will miss the cheese and spinach quiches he made with the eggs of the chickens he raised; and daily jokes he made sure to share with everyone he came in contact with. Romans 28 & 29: and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God fore-knew he also planned to be conformed to the likeness of his Son that he might be the first-born among many others.
