Martha Sellers

Martha M. Sellers passed away peacefully on October 30 at the age of 93. The daughter of Paul and Maria Huttenberger was born on January 27, 1925. After World War II she met her husband, George, who was stationed in Germany.
They were married in Germany and went through many months of paperwork before she was allowed to join George at Westover AFB in Massachusetts. Over a week on a ship and then to Ellis Island where she went through a legal and rigorous process to become a US citizen.
Martha was proud of her German heritage, but she immediately became an American when she passed the Statue of Liberty. She flew the small American flag on her car for many years. She was sure to vote in every election and worked at the voting precincts for many years.
Martha was a member of Azalea Park Baptist Church for over fifty years before she moved with Pastor Jack Hardy to South Conway Baptist Church. Her church family meant the world to her. Martha was widowed in 1971 at the age of 46 and remained single the rest of her life.
She leaves behind four children, Cary ( Byng ), Jane ( Paul ), Bill ( Karen ), and June ( Sally ). Grandchildren, Kelly Maki ( Bill ), Marc Christiansen ( Sherry ), Mark Sellers ( Jessica ), Christina Ibana ( Alvin ), and Daniel Sellers. Great grandchildren, Brittany, Ava, and Oliver.
Funeral services will take place at 9:30am on Friday, November 2, 2018, at South Conway Baptist Church, 6099 S. Conway Road, Orlando, FL. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Conway Baptist Church.
Arrangements entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home.
