Marsha Griffin Floyd

Marsha Kay Griffin Floyd, 74, passed away on May 5, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.

Marsha was born on January 2, 1949 in Tampa, FL, to Robert and Euline Griffin. Along with her older brother Robert, Jr (Robbie) and her younger brother David, Marsha enjoyed growing up in Tampa and spending time with family and numerous cousins.

Marsha graduated from Chamberlain High School and went on to earn a bachelors degree in education from the University of Florida. She started her career in teaching after graduation, and taught elementary age children until her retirement. She specialized in teaching reading to students with difficulties and was once recognized as Teacher of the Year for her efforts.

Marsha married Lester C. Floyd, Jr (Terry) on August 14th, 1971 in Tampa. Marsha and Terry had 2 children, Kevin Floyd, of Temple Terrace, and Matthew Floyd, of Orlando.

Marsha was a member of the South Bumby church of Christ for many years and enjoyed the close relationships of many brethren, writing bible class curriculum for the children and participating in the teaching program there.

Marsha is survived by sons Kevin (Erica) and Matthew, grandchildren Jackson and Kelsey, brothers Robbie (Shirley) and David (Cheryl) and many nephews and nieces.

Marsha is preceded in death by her father Robert, mother Euline and husband Terry.

Funeral services for Marsha will be held on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 AM at the South Bumby Church of Christ in Orlando.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 25th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Kevin and Matt request a donation in Marsha's name to the Orange County 4-H program, where contributions will be used to further the education and development of local youth. Contributions can be sent to Orange County 4-H, 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812.
