Marsa Hartness Black passed away February 12, 2016 after a long struggle with Alzheimer disease. Marsa was born in Bartlesville, OK to Flora and Lloyd Hartness. She moved to Winter Park in 1970, where she met and married her husband of 46 years, Bob Black.
Marsa worked as one of the first female pharmacists in Orlando. She also worked as a Real Estate agent and for many years as an interior designer, for Lloyd's Furniture store. When Lloyd's closed she started her own interior design business.
Golf, bridge and interior design were her passions. She was a member of Rio Pinar Golf Club where she was an avid golfer, serving as President of the Rio Pinar Ladies Golf Association.
A graveside service in Marsa's honor is scheduled for Tuesday, February 16th at 11:30 AM at Palm Cemetery, 1005 N. New York Ave., Winter Park. Friends and family are invited to a reception and celebration of Marsa's life at Rio Pinar Golf Club following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice.
