Luis Serrano known to his family as Papa Luis, 97, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Sunday May 3rd at his Westminister Towers residence.
Luis was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on February 20th, 1923. He was married to Carmen Rodriguez (known to family as Mama Yia) on January 12th, 1944. They were married a total of 68 years. Their extreme love for each other kept them inseparable until the passing of Carmen on March 12, 2012. It was a love that their family and friends dearly admired. The family is at peace knowing they are finally together in heaven with our Lord.
Luis worked mainly as a Farmer in several fields throughout his career. He enjoyed long walks, gardening and being outdoors. Many of his most favorable moments were when he spent time with his children and grandchildren. Family was the upmost important to him and his late wife. He would round everyone up to tell stories of the good ol’ days.
Luis is survived by his children; Mildred Serrano, Ruth Rojas and Jorge Serrano including many of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as other family and friends.
Luis is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen Rodriguez and his beloved son, David Serrano.
The family of Luis Serrano wishes to thank the Nurses, CNAs and the entire staff at Westminster Towers Health Center for their dedication and kindness through the years.
