Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Thomas Leslie Hattaway

Belle Isle-Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas L. Hattaway was born November 10, 1934 in Georgia to the late Charles and Mattie Lou Hattaway. He was raised in Waverly, FL, then served for 21 years in the United States Air Force, ending his service as a Commander of Montauk Air Force Station in 1974. He was then employed for 37 years in the Communications Division for the City of Orlando Fire Department. 

He is survived by his loving family, his wife Sharon Hattaway; son Thomas L. Hattaway, Jr, son Richard L. Hattaway; and daughter Carol Leonard. His greatest moments included being PaPa to his grandchildren, Drew Hattaway, Leslie Davis, Ciara Nicole Holland and Kailee Hattaway and great-grandchildren Andi and Theo.

A memorial service will be held August 5, 2023 at 2 PM at The Orlando Church of Christ, 2400 S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822.
