Linda Henderson

Linda Faith Mitchell Gunn Henderson, passed away peacefully, on October 23, 2014, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, complicated by a fractured hip. She is survived by her husband, Terry, her daughter, Lisa Lorene Furst, and her husband Denny, two grandsons, Jordan and Joshua Furst, and her sisters, Polly and Joy. Linda was born on September 10, 1943, in Orlando, Florida and graduated from Boone High School. She was preceded in death by her parents. Linda also leaves behind her best friend of 50 years, Sue Green of North Carolina, as well as many other close friends, and her beloved dog, Dixie.

Linda was a legal secretary for Michael Maher, senior partner of the Maher Law Firm, PA in Winter Park, for 42 years before her retirement in 2009 and became a very happy retiree. She began her legal career initially on the East Coast as a legal secretary at a general practice firm and Mike was an associate attorney practicing at a small Orlando firm. Following his interview of Linda in 1966, he asked her to start working for him that afternoon. Mike has been quoted as saying, Linda worked with the firm from the very beginning of both of our careers. If I were hanging from a cliff on a lifeline and needed someone who was worthy of the highest trust at the other end, it would be Linda. Linda was a loyal employee, a mentor to new employees and a very loved friend to all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:30A.M. at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida. 4078982561.
