Kimberley “Kim” Dawn Kerns-Wilcox, MSN, RN, died unexpectedly on August 9, 2021 at the age of 48 in Orlando, FL.
Born August 23, 1972 in Charleston, West Virginia to Larry and Mary Kerns. Even after her family relocated in 1987 to Orlando, FL., you knew Kim was not a true “Floridian” because she still “warshed” her clothes and refused to wear socks with sandals.
Kim was educated at William R. Boone High School, Valencia Community College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Walden University. Kim was a force to be reckoned with in her education, and people throughout all stages of her life sought her guidance and benefited from her teachings.
Kim provided over 20 years of service with AdventHealth beginning as an LPN and working her way up to a Director of Clinical Outcomes in Infection Prevention and Venous Access Services. Kim enjoyed watching her daughter dance, going to the pool, and watching Hallmark movies.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Almond Wilcox and their miracle daughter, Sophia; sisters Jennifer Kerns and Amanda Kerns-Williams and her husband, Paul Williams and their son, Ashton; and nephews Nathan Taylor and Zachary Kerns; her great nephew, Jace Taylor; father and mother-in-law, Earl and Lillian Roberts; sister-in-law, Sheena Wilcox and her two children, Cane and Lily Wilcox. Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Larry, and Mary Kerns.
