John Stratta

John Marcel Stratta , age 55, passed away on March 22, 2020, following a lengthy illness.  He is survived by his father, Julius John Stratta, sisters Gina and Marie, brother Anthony, step-father William Arnold and four nephews, who mourn his passing.

John was born in Charleston, West Virginia,  raised in Rockland County, New York, and moved to Florida when was a teenager. He joined the Army in 1985 and was later honorably discharged.  After his discharge, he earned his Associates degree in Management and worked in the hospitality industry as well as owning his own candle store.  Throughout his life, John was an avid sports fan, a staunch supporter of the Yankees and the Jets,  and an accomplished golfer.  John was a man of strong conviction and political engagement.   John’s life was for decades enriched by the shared love and laughter of his close friends, especially Kathy and Ted McCoy, whose family became his own.
