Jasper Morgan Horne (Jerry), 76, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2022, of complications from a rare form of Parkinson’s disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Jerry was born in Live Oak, FL, on April 8, 1946, but lived most of his life in Vero Beach, FL. He graduated from Vero Beach High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Indian River Junior College.
Jerry was drafted into the United States Army and served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War from September 1967 to April 1969. Jerry worked in the electrical trade for IBEW Local Union 323/728 until his retirement in 2008. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Lockett Horne, of Orlando, FL, along with his two daughters, Jennifer Horne Poole and Kathryn Horne Grainger, both of Orlando, FL. Also surviving are Jerry’s sister, Barbara Horne Davison of Vero Beach, FL, and his 5 grandchildren – Rebecca Poole, Daniel Poole, Emily Grainger, Joshua Poole, and Avery Grainger.
There will be a celebration of life held in Jerry’s honor on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Heritage Center in Vero Beach, FL, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
