Henry Newton Burnett was born on January 15, 1934 to James P. and Bertha M (Palmer) Burnett and
was one of nine children. After a lengthy battle with cancer, he went to be with his Lord on September
10, 2018 at the age of 84.
Henry served his country as a combat medic in the Army during the Korean War and married the love of
his life, Evelyn Joyce Mock in 1955. Through the years, Henry and Evelyn served side by side as owners
of Henry's Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and in later years, Henry's Jewelry and Pawn Shop until
retirement in 1997. In retirement, Henry and Evelyn enjoyed Summers with friends in Waynesville, N.C.
and the balance of their time was spent in Orlando with the family he loved and prayed for daily.
Henry is survived by his wife Evelyn Burnett, his daughters Lawanda (Brett) Railey, Celina (Marvin)
Alderman, Teresa (Dee Long) Foss, his grandchildren Amanda, Jonathan, Brittany, Rachael, Kelly, Keith,
Emmanuel, Lucson, Maranatha, and five great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Earl
(Marilyn) Burnett of Sevierville, TN, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Henry was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather and a steadfast example to his family of how
to allow a faith in God to guide your daily life, and allowing that same faith to gracefully give you
strength and comfort as a failing body prepared him for his Homegoing
