Henry Bliss Jr

Henry E. (Hank) Bliss, Jr. passed away on February, 5th, 2023. Hank was born in Hartford, CT to Henry E. Bliss, Sr. and Esther McCarthy Bliss. He attended and graduated from the University of Hartford and the Connecticut Institute of Engineering with an Industrial Engineering degree. He moved to Winter Park, FL from Miami, FL in 1959 and lived in Winter Park, FL for the remainder of his life. Henry retired from the Insurance industry in 1994. He was a Navy veteran, long time member of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Orange County East Rotary Club with 40+ years of perfect attendance and Paul Harris Fellow designation. He was also a member of the Winter Park Stag Club, Romeo's, Navy League, and an Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

He married Ruth Berry Bliss on September 3, 1956 and she predeceased him in death in 2002. He is survived by his second wife, Jan Miller Bliss, whom he married on November 25, 2005, his daughters Suzanne Bliss and Deborah Bliss Kalish, his son-in-law Wayne Kalish, granddaughter Jacqueline Olliff of Atlanta, grandson in-law Luke Olliff, great grandson Owen, grandson Matthew Bliss Kalish of Orlando, granddaughter in-Law Mikey Kalish, 1 nephew, and 5 nieces. He is also survived by Stepdaughter Anne Thompson(Chris), Stepson Tom Miller(Stacy) and Stepson John Miller(Lucia), 8 Step grandchildren, and 9 step great grandchildren.

There will be a prayer service at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church Chapel on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 6:30-8:00. The funeral service will be at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N. Park Ave., Winter park, FL 32789; or Orange County East Rotary Club., PO Box 1566, Winter Park, FL 32790.
