A Graveside Service for Mrs. Helen W. Mitchell, 82, of Orlando, FL., who passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, will held Thursday, October 3, 2019 11AM at Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood Street, Orlando, FL 32801. Mrs. Mitchell was born July 22, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio and is survived by her loving husband, Robert D. Mitchell Jr.; daughters, Robyn Bazemore (Gene), Marcia Maloy (Rick) and Liz Stevens (Alex); grandchildren, Gene Bazemore Jr. (Lynn), Tiffany Cary (Drake), Ashley Penson (Jeff) AJ Stevens (Katy), Christina Stevens & great-grandchildren, Rynn Cary & Dax Stevens.
She was a loving wife who supported her husband, and followed him where the road would lead. Together they built a successful business growing and selling annuals, perennials and herbs throughout the state to cities, hotels, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and more.
She was a loving mother who was always there for all of her girls and their families. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren lit up her life, and she adored all of them. As a child, her parents bred boxer dogs, and she often showed them at dog shows. Many were champions. Maybe that’s why she referred to all of her children and grandchildren as having ‘paws’ instead of hands. She had a witty sense of humor, and there was always laughter in the home.
She was passionate about her gardens, tending to them daily. Roses and orchids were among her favorites, but she loved anything with a flower. Flowers where a huge part of her life both in business and at home. Flowers were always in the home, a home she decorated with style and beauty. She was a stylish woman with impeccable taste.
She was always a perfect example of how a marriage should be. Through good times and tough times, her faith never waivered. Christ was at the center of both of their lives.
Rest peacefully sweet angel. You will see us all again one day. We love you.
