George Fotieo, 98, of Orlando, entered into eternal rest October 3, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian Colivas Fotieo, children Dr. Gregory Fotieo (Dana) of Albuquerque, NM, Lianna Fotieo (Richard Chuilli) of Orlando, Georgia "Gigi" Fotieo (Chad Allman) of Orlando, and grandchildren Nicholas, Kirsten, Alex and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his father Gregory, mother Georgia (Stamatelopoulos), and sister, Constance Papastrat.
George was born January 5, 1924 in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, NY. He is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT in 1947. He served in the Army during WWII as a sergeant in counterintelligence from 1944-1946. In 1950, he began his 38 year aeronautical engineering career with Martin Marietta in Baltimore. In 1959, he transferred to Orlando where he worked on the Pershing and Sprint missile systems and retired from Martin in 1989. George was a founding member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Orlando where he volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and served two terms as parish council president.
During retirement, he and his wife traveled the world alongside lifelong friends, John and Penny Harbilas, and experienced many adventures together. He had a passion for the stock market and sparked his grandchildren's interest in investing. George was a founding member of the Downtown Y where he enjoyed playing handball.
George loved and was proud of the family he cultivated with his beloved wife. George will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Papou, uncle, and mentor to many. His legacy will live on through his wife, children, and grandchildren. May his Memory be Eternal.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1217 Trinity Woods Lane, Maitland, Florida. The funeral service will follow at 11 am and interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood St., Orlando. A lunch reception will follow at the Agape Ballroom at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
