Monk, Fred age 82, died peacefully while visiting his family in Wayne, PA. He was born in 1932 to parents Fred Laura Monk in Lucasville, OH. He married his wife Dolores Dody Doley Monk in Portsmouth, OH. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Michael Monk David Queen, Laura Rich Ruzzini grandchildren and spouses, Michelle Mike Vereckey, Stephen Ruzzini, and Lucy Ruzzini and great grandchild, Blaze Vereckey. His surviving brothers and sisters are Joyce Reeves, Ray Eckhart, Gregory Monk, Kermit Monk, and Annette Frazer. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles and Bernard Monk parents Fred and Laura and stepmother, Eileen. In 1961 he relocated his family to Orlando, FL a city he proclaimed as the best place to live and the place where he wished to remain forever. In 1967 he founded Quality Appliances, a successful retail business that remained the leading business of its kind until his retirement in 1993. He lived a life of integrity and honesty and was a dedicated father and a faithful husband. He loved his family. His personal passions were golf and fishing. He was also a proud veteran of the US Air Force, in which he served during the Korean War. A funeral service will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando FL., on Saturday September 13th at 9:45am. Visitation services will be held prior beginning at 9am. Mr. Monk will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
