Ernest Blake

Ernest L. “Pete” Blake passed away peacefully into God’s hands at his home on July 22, 2021.  He was born on January 23, 1934 in Richmond, Ohio to Ernest and Mazie Blake.  He began his telephone career with Ohio Bell and retired from BellSouth in 1989.  He was a kind and caring person who helped anyone in need.  He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and fishing and was able to accomplish whatever he put his mind to.  He proudly served his country in United States Marine Corp.  He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Winter Park Masonic Lodge #239, Syrian Lebanese American Club and Christ the King Episcopal Church.  His kindness and love will be missed by many.

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, sister Marjorie Schneider, son Doug Blake, daughter Amy Blake, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 6PM-8PM (Service to begin at 7PM) at Colonial Chapel/ Carey Hand Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32806. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10AM at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 26 Willow Drive, Orlando, FL 32807. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
