Elizabeth Evans

Elizabeth Robear Evans, born 10/23/1921 in Norfolk, VA, her parents were Eva and Raymond Rockhill. Elizabeth married Donald Evans from Brazil, Indiana on February 23, 1943 in Weatherford,TX. They have one son, Carroll Kent Evans born January 23, 1950 in Indianapolis, Ind. She has one sister named Cordelia Kennedy, who passed away in August, 2014. In June, 1959, she and her husband and son moved to Miami, Florida from Indianapolis, Ind. They lived in Miami for 21 years before moving to Orlando In August, 1980. She worked for AT&T /Southern Bell /Bellsouth for 38 years before retiring on December 31, 1983. Her husband passed away on November 22, 1986. She has been an active member of Dover Shores Baptist Church in Orlando for 32 years. She sang in the choir and a member of their WMU. She went on several mission trips. Enjoyed traveling, had the opportunity to go to Israel two times. A few of her other trips were: 1990 & 92 - Hawaii, 1999 - Alaska, 2001- Ten day tour of Europe, 2002 - A trip to the Canadian Rockies including Vancouver, BC, 2005 - Yosemite National Park. Most of all, she was a loving wife to my Dad and a wonderful mother. A viewing will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL., on Thursday, July 23, from 5pm-8pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 24, 10am, at Dover Shores Baptist Church, 551 Gaston Foster Road, Orlando, FL. Interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka, FL.
