Edward Francis Walsh Jr, 86, passed away on February 19, 2023, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.
Edward was born on January 11, 1937 in Long Beach, CA, to Edward Walsh Sr. and Effie Walsh, later moving to Everett, MA.
Edward graduated from Boston College High School in 1954 and went on to further his education at Syracuse University. He was a true patriot, proudly serving his country in both the Marine Corps and the Air Force.
Edward continued his record of service with a distinguished 35 year career in the United States Postal Service. He achieved the level of Tour Superintendent, a position he held both in Boston, MA and Orlando, FL prior to his retirement in 1992.
It was early in his postal career that Edward met and married the love of his life, Janet, also a postal worker. Together they raised a large and loving family, with her predeceasing him on April 16, 1999. He never stopped loving her.
Edward was best known for his love of his grand and great-grandchildren, guns and geneaology, in exactly that order.
Edward is survived by sons John, Edward and Robert Walsh, and daughters Patricia Ragucci, Dani Anne Bonfilio and Siobhan Gregg. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchidren. He was predeceased in 2021 by his grandson, John Bonfilio.
The service for Edward will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home in Orlando, FL. The date will be announced soon.
