Dorothy Amelia McIntyre

Dorothy was born in the Bronx, New York in 1922, into a German Catholic family, and after her mother’s death was partially raised in an orphanage with her dear brother, Bud.  She married Jeremiah McIntyre, a Scotch-Irish Catholic, in 1941, and lived as a military wife and mother through World War II until Jerry retired in 1963.  After moving to Orlando, Florida, she worked at Sears until she retired. For many years after retirement, she painted china in beautiful designs and colors, which are cherished by her family and friends.  Dorothy died peacefully at home having been lovingly cared for in her last years by her family.  She died just weeks after her 102nd birthday.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Jeremiah McIntyre, her grandson Scott Long, and her son-in-law Mark McDonald. Dorothy is survived by the eight children she and Jerry brought into the world:  Shannon Skousgaard (Stephen); Katherine Hall (Bruce); Cynthia Brown (Tony); Michael McIntyre (Debbie); Theresa McDonald-Rivera (Ric); James McIntyre (Melissa); Jennifer Barbosa (Antonio); Jeralee McIntyre (Ashley).  Dorothy and Jeremiah were blessed with 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
