DOROTHY LEWIS DRANE, 85

ORLANDO – Dorothy “Dottie” Lewis Drane, age 85, went peacefully to be with the LORD, Thursday, December 16, 2021. Dottie was born at Florida Hospital in Orlando, on July 14, 1936 to Joseph and Marian Lewis. She graduated from William R. Boone High School in 1955 and then attended Florida State University.

Dottie was a Christian and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando since 1962. She was a member of Junior Sorosis, Orlando Day Nursery, Orlando Natives, and her local Bridge Club. She was an avid Gator fan and a member of Gator Boosters for over 50 years, never missing an opportunity to attend a Gator football game in all her orange and blue to cheer her favorite team on to victory. Dottie loved to travel, explore new restaurants, shop, and work in her yard. She was loved by so many in her community and most knew her for her kind and giving heart, cooking, baking, and delicious sweets.

Dottie’s greatest passions were her love of her children and grandchildren. She was the most loving and devoted mother, grandmother “Gran’’ and mother-in-law with whom anyone could be blessed. She was a wonderful friend to so many, the best friend you would ever want, so loyal, and someone you could always count on.

She is survived by her beloved children, Sarah Anne Hanks (Kenney) of Orlando, Catherine Albert (Paul) of Simpsonville, SC, James P. Drane, III of Orlando and Susan Somerville (Roger) of Orlando, and her 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Jordan and Katie Grace Hanks, Madison Albert, Hayden and Colton Somerville. Dottie is also survived by her sister Connie Iseminger of Orlando. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marian Lewis, and brother Joseph Lewis.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando in the Reformation Chapel. A reception will follow the service.
