Dianna “Carol” Merritt, 86, of Orlando FL, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2021, surrounded by family. Carol was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on October 13, 1934, lived in St Louis where she met her husband Ira LaDon Merritt, previously deceased, and began a life as an Air Force wife and mother. She is survived by five daughters: LaDona Merritt, Linda Merritt, Kimberly Merritt, Shelly Merritt, Karen Merritt Baker, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a sister, Ann “Tootie” Smith. Carol was an amazing cook, creative writer, loved gardening and sewing. She enjoyed being with her family and in recent years enjoyed “getting out the vote“ for elections. She was a people person and loved family, friends and strangers who were all drawn to her. She will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, at 11:00am, on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
