Debra Ann Caldwell

Debbie Caldwell, 69, passed away on August 22, 2023, in Belle Isle, Florida in her family home.

Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Caldwell, Thomas Dearnell - father, Dorothy Dearnell - mother.

Debra Ann Caldwell was born on February 19, 1954 in Paintsville, KY, to Thomas Dearnell and Dorothy Dearnell. She grew up in West Virginia with her 3 siblings, Linda, Tom, and John. Debbie graduated from East Bank High School in 1972. She served many years as a Homemaker and Caregiver for her son and her mother, and went on to work as a Supervisor for Central Florida Expressway Authority where she met her current long term partner, David Blackmon.

Debbie married Tommy Caldwell on September 7th, 1984 in Kissimmee, FL. The couple had 1 child, Adam Caldwell, before Tommy passed away in 2002.

Debbie was best known for being "obsessed" with her son and grandchild. Her life revolved around her family. She recently moved into the family home and was looking forward to seeing her grandchild begin high school. Debbie loved the beach, with Daytona and Islamorada being her favorite vacation destinations. She enjoyed family board game nights, Native American history, family movie nights, and animals. Her family loved to tease her by imitating her deep West Virginian accent, and lovingly referred to her as the "family treasure."

Debbie is survived her long term partner of 14 years, David Blackmon, Adam Caldwell - son, Brittany Caldwell - daughter-in-law, Levi Caldwell - her favorite and only grandchild, Linda Carter - sister, Tom Dearnell - brother, John Dearnell - brother. She will also be missed by her golden retriever - Toby, turtle - Spike, and her granddogs Odie & Todd.

The Celebration of Life for Debbie Caldwell will be held on Saturday, September 9th at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.
