David Wyatt Debelius, 61, passed away after a long illness on February 4th, 2018. He was born August 19th, 1956 in Baltimore, Md. He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Debelius, and great nephew, Cory Marcella and his daughter Emma. David loved and was so proud of his daughter. She was his shining light and caretaker during his illness. David was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Theresa Debelius, his sister, Donna Holleritter, and his niece, Danielle Debelius. David was a graduate of Boone High School, Orlando, Florida. He retired from Orange County Public Schools where he was an instructor in the automotive division teaching automatic transmission repair. David's hobby and greatest passion was stock car racing. He raced at New Smyrna Speedway, Orlando Speed World, Sunshine Speedway, Lake City and Auburndale speedways for over 35 years winning many feature events and a Championship. After retiring from driving, he mentored many up and coming drivers by providing a car and sharing his vast racing experience. A gathering of friends will be on Sunday, February 11, 2018 12:30 pm, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home with the Memorial service following at 1:30 pm.
