Danny Eugene Holecheck, 80, of Orlando, Florida, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Danny was born on July 12, 1942 to Charlene and Frank Holecheck in Richmond, Indiana. After he graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1960, he served 11 years in the Air Force and was a proud military veteran. He went on to study computers at Florida Research Institute and Rollins College.
He worked for various companies in the computer industry, including time with Federal Electric Corp at NASA on the Apollo program.
In 1978, Danny met his wife Cheryl while working at Orange County Public Schools. They were married on Valentine's Day in 1979 and raised two loving daughters, Melissa (Haggerty) and Kelly.
Danny enjoyed driving and showing his 1969 Chevelle and 1971 Charger, listening to his extensive collection of music, having a weed free yard, and spending any time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He had the need for speed and the thrill of riding roller coasters, even at 80. His humor, inquisitive nature, huge smile, and loud laugh will be greatly missed.
Danny was predeceased by his mother Charlene Williams, his father Frank Holecheck, and his father-in-law Wayne Sauceman.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his children Kelly Holecheck and Melissa (Jerry) Haggerty as well as three grandchildren Shelby, Julia, Justin.. He also leaves behind his sister Sandy Koger, brother Sam Bussen, sister Linda Sue Giles, several nieces and nephews, and Mother-in-law Wanda Sauceman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any group that supports military veterans.
