Clyde Russell McCumber, 92, went to be with his Lord, Monday, February 29th, 2016. Born in Georgetown, Illinois to Clyde R. McCumber and Anna (Boen) McCumber on June 27, 1923. Clyde served his country by serving in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 during World War II with the 9th Air Force. After being discharged from the Army Air Corps, Clyde met and married his Wife Anna Mae (Nelson) the following year on November 29th, 1947.
After the service he began his career in construction and later was employed with Cox Associates Incorporated where he acted as President from 1980 to 1992 and retired as a Certified Professional Roofing Contractor. He and Anna Me are members of Delany Street Baptist Church of Orlando.
Clyde is survived by beloved Wife of 70 years Anna Mae, Daughters; Nancy Bonner, Linda Garmon and Mary Jo Bratton, 6 Grandchildren: Kimberly Bonner, Traci Penland, Cory Garmon, Micha el Garmon, Justin Bratton, Jordan Bratton, and 3 Great Grandchildren: Aurora Pineda, Ressa Penland and Naomi Penland, Cynthia Penland, Brodie Garmon, Emerson Garmon, Bob Cowart, Courtney Bratton and Ethan Bratton.
A Gathering of Friends for Clyde is scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL., 32806. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00 AM on the following day, Friday, March 4th at the funeral home with internment services to immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida where Military Honors will be presented.
