Christine Rogers

November 24, 1962 — January 17, 2023

It is with great sorrow that the family of Christine Catherine Rogers announces her death on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, in Miami, FL. Christine was born in Gainesville, FL during Thanksgiving, while her parents, Andrea and Lee Rogers, were students at the University of Florida. She was raised in Orlando, FL., where she was active in Ebsen Dancing School, Girl Scouts and swimming in Lake Conway. She attended Shenandoah elementary school, Conway Junior High School (Middle School), and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1980.

While married to Steve McGee, she graduated from UCF where Steve was also a student. She began her teaching career at Catalina Elementary School, where she put all her energy into working with her young students. Our daughter and sister, Christine, danced in the Walt Disney World Parade and continued her love of dance for much of her life.

Christine spent the last 17 years with her companion, Robert Camacho in the Miami Area. Survivors include her mother, Andrea Petersen Rogers, and her brothers, Alexander, and Michael, all of Pensacola, FL., Alexander's Wife, Jacqueline, and some of their 13 children also live in the Pensacola area. Other survivors to mourn her death are Uncle Richard Boone Rogers Jr. and Wife, Aunt Allison, of Orlando, FL., Aunt Charlotte Ann Godwin of Newberry, FL., Deirdre Welles Petersen of Martha's Vineyard, MA.; 7 Nieces and 7 Nephews and 3 Cousins. Christine was preceded in death by her father, Lee C. Rogers and Uncle Johnny E. Godwin.

Graveside services will be at 9AM, Thursday February 16th, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, Florida. 1603 Greenwood St, Orlando, FL, 32801
