Carol Finger, 78, of Orlando, passed away June 2, 2017, with family by her side. Carol was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on July 14, 1938, to Luther and Margaret Whittemore. Her father was a firefighter and her mother a homemaker. Carol grew up in Johnson City and graduated from Science Hill High School. She moved to Orlando in 1957. Always a hard worker, she was employed in the shipping and freight industry for many years and retired as a proud member of the teamster's union. Carol is survived by her sons Joe Finger, Jr. (Andrea) and Tim Finger of Orlando, and by her former husband Joe Finger, Sr. also of Orlando. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Margaret Whittemore, and her brother, Derryl Whittemore. Carol was known by all who loved her for her caring spirit, and sweet but sassy personality which always showed through even in times of sickness. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Carol's doctors, nurses, and other caretakers at Florida Hospital East Orlando for their exceptional and compassionate care during the final weeks of her life. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. on Sunday June 11, 2017, at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando, FL 32806.
