Carey Lynn Hill, 63, of Orlando, died Saturday morning, November 30, 2013. He was born to the late Clarence Lynwood Hill and Elsie Stephens, September 15, 1950, in Grand Ridge, Florida. In 1972, Carey graduated from Florida State University, and graduated from the University of Floridas College of Law in 1975. On January 6, 1973, he married his wife, Deborah, and together, they had one son, Andrew. After passing the bar, Carey started with the law firm of Giles, Hedrick and Robinson, then one of Orlandos largest and prominent law firms. There, he handled various transactional matters for a variety of clients. He later was a partner with the firm of Baker Hostetler, a national law firm, wellrespected throughout the country. Carey was also a successful residential real estate developer, with projects varying from entrylevel residential neighborhoods to communities consisting of multimillion dollar, custom homes in the Windermere, Florida area. A gifted athlete, in high school Carey was an allstate point guard for the Chattahoochee High School Yellowjackets basketball team, winning a state championship in 1967. An avid golfer, one of his proudest accomplishments was shooting even par on Amen Corner at the famed Augusta National Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Ward Hill his son, daughterinlaw and grandson: Andrew, Melissa, and Jackson Hill, of Tarpon Springs, Florida his brother and sisterinlaw: Larry and Shirley Hill, of Grand Ridge, Florida and his uncle and aunt, Donald and Myrtle Stephens, of Blountstown, Florida. Mathew and Sarah Stephens. of Chattahoochee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Joyce Ward Family Trust, which Carey helped organize to secure the educational future of his niece and nephew, Rachel and Jonathan Ward. Such donations should be sent care of the Rev. Gene Zimmerman, First United Methodist Church of Orlando, 142 E. Jackson Street, Orlando, FL, 32801. All are welcome to attend a service celebrating his life at First United Methodist on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., with a reception immediately following.
