Barbara Gibbs

Barbara Jean Gibbs
March 15, 1938 born to Columbus Franklin and Laveda Waters (Brazell) in Orlando, Florida. On May 3, 2016 she was called to heaven with all of her family with her. Barbara was married to and divorced from Calvin Henry Gibbs.
Barbara is survived by son: Charles Henry Gibbs, daughter: Theresa Ann Gibbs, son: Philip Dean Gibbs and daughter: Michele L. C. Kightlinger. Barbara had 7 grandchildren: Toni, Samantha, Carey, Amy, Angela, George and Jacob; 12 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by 2 brothers: Richard Allen Waters and James Winfield Waters from a family of 13 children.
For 30 years Barbara was the kennel manager for Underhill Animal Hospital. Dr. Dan Hill, owner, his wife and 2 children were considered part of her family and she loved them as such. Barbara worked with such diligence and love to care for every single animal as if they were her own. She had a true gift for animals, they will all miss her.
Barbara was the strength of her family. They all could depend on her for anything and she loved them all, every single one-though she sometimes didn't like a couple of us very much (and we know who we are), she still loved us each every one.
I think her granddaughter Angela summed it up best when she wrote: "My grandmother was beautiful, strong, vibrant, hilarious, stubborn, a junk food lover, humble, fair, caring and loved". As Dr. Hill put it "The dog whisperer had nothing on Mema, She was a magical talent with animals".
