Mrs. Barbara Christine Brady (Gullans), 88 of Orlando, FL. passed away suddenly on January 31. 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late James I. Brady with whom she had celebrated 49 years of marriage. Barbara was raised in Watchung, New Jersey, the daughter of the late John and Christine Gullans. Barbara was a graduate of Vermont College (Norwich) in Montpelier, Vermont where she met and married Jim Brady. Barb and Jim moved to the Boston suburbs and raised a family of four children in Dedham, Ma. In 1980, the family relocated to Florida with Bell South and finally settled in Orlando, FL. After being a homemaker in Massachusetts. she later had a successful real estate career in Orlando with Coldwell Banker.
Barbara is survived by her children, Karen C. Johnson (Fred), Kimberly A. Lawton (Richard), Lisa J. Hamberg (Thomas) and Steven J. Brady (Katherine). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was her children’s biggest cheerleader through the years and also became devoted to her beautiful grandchildren. Barbara had a love of water her entire life. She was a lifeguard at Watchung Lake, loved the Jersey Shore and the beaches in Satellite Beach, FL.
Throughout her life she had a love of flowers, gardening and fast cars. She was a loyal and devoted friend to many.
Visitation and Memorial Service will take place on February 10th at 3 pm at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home in Orlando, FL. A celebration of her life will also take place at the Jersey Shore at a later date. COVID 19 protocols have been implemented for the service. Please wear a face mask and social distancing is of the utmost importance.
In lieu of flowers, donations can also be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels, Orlando FL or Habitat for Humanity, Orlando.
