Anthony F. Clayton, 63, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2023, in Orlando, FL.
Anthony Clayton was born on December 24, 1959 in Picayune, MS, to Francis "Frank" Clayton and Olga Carolyn Clayton. He and his parents moved to Orlando while he was still an infant, where he then attended Englewood Elementary, Jackson Junior High, and then graduated from Colonial High School in 1977.
Anthony went on to earn two degrees. He graduated from Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in Environment Science. Also, in 2008, he graduated from Georgia State University with a Master of Arts in Economics. He started his career as a Software Engineer and went on to work for 44 years while living in Minneapolis, Atlanta, and finally back home in Orlando.
Anthony married Cindy Andreu in December 2017 in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. After many years in Atlanta, they moved to Orlando in December 2020.
Anthony was a voracious reader, a lifelong student, and an avid runner for the past 40 years, running several marathons, 10Ks, and countless 5Ks over the years. He was a fan of architecture and mid-century design, and was a naturalist, and very conscious of environmental issues. He had a clever wit, a mischievous smile, and a kind and gentle spirit. He was so beloved by his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by his spouse, Cindy Andreu, of Orlando; his mother, Olga Carolyn Clayton, of Orlando; his siblings, Kevin (Beth Coppens) Clayton and Tina (Brian) Holton, of Orlando; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica (Justin Varney) Clayton, Nichole (Greg) Lavery, Alexandra Clayton, Cameron Holton, and Aaron Holton.
Anthony is preceded in death by his father, Francis A. Clayton.
The service for Anthony Clayton will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made in Anthony's name to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
