Anne Merrill Farmer, 61, of Orlando went to be with the Lord after an 8 year battle with cancer on March 30, 2014. Anne was born on July 10, 1952 in New Bedford, MA, to the late Edward S. Merrill and Ardith Merrill. Her family moved to Orlando, FL in 1957. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School and received a bachelors degree in social science minor in psychology from the University of Central Florida. She worked for the State of Florida Department of Social Welfare before beginning a career in hotel and restaurant management.
Annes experience dealing with the business community then led to employment with the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce where she advanced from Account Executive to Business Development Manager in her 10 year career with the Chamber.
Anne, a popular member of the Chamber staff, was instrumental in facilitating Chamber members in leads meetings.
Anne and her husband of 30 years, Jeffrey Farmer, loved to entertain. Their holiday parties and barbecues were enjoyed by friends and family alike. An exceptional hostess, and good cook, Anne had a special flair for setting the stage for these parties with her creative decorations. She was always ready for weekend getaways to the beach or ocean cruises. She was also an avid gardener, who could coax orchids to produce massive numbers of blossoms.
Anne had many caring friends and was so appreciative of the kindnesses they extended during her illness. She will be sorely missed.
Anne is survived by her husband, Jeffrey mother, Ardith sister, Tobey Merrill Wilson of Daytona Beach, FL brother, Edward S. Merrill of Fort Lauderdale and, niece, Phaedra Lee of Daytona Beach.
