Andrew Foti was 96 years old when he passed away on March 29th, 2018, at his home in Orlando with family members by his side. He had an amazing life and was an endless bundle of joy, always filled with life, love, and laughter no matter what was going on even through the worst you could always count on there being a smile on his face.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 25th 1922, he was the son of Maria and Francesco Foti and predeceased by six brothers and sisters. He graduated from New York technical school and served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II as a machinist mate first class on the destroyer escort USS Menges. He was employed at the City of New York as a machinist in the department of water resources for 23 years before retiring in 1981. He was able to retire from the city two years earlier than normal, because he was able to save the city millions of dollars by using one of his innovative ideas of rerouting part of the city's water supply.
He belonged to the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed many things in life, but what he enjoyed most was his family, friends, and his faith. He also enjoyed repairing and tinkering with everything and anything he could. He always had this big smile on his face when he fixed something and couldn't help but show everyone what he did.
He is survived by his children Andrew (Trudi) Foti, Christopher (Mary) Foti, Matthew (Beth) Foti, Corinne (Scott) Kusick, and grandchildren James, Michael, Thomas, Erika, Jacob, Maddilyn (Daniel) Genova.
